Kpangnan Butter from Aromatics

Kpangnan Butter

Pentadesma butyracea

Description

Kpangnan, (also called African Butter Tree). As this butter is in short supply please only order 1-8 ounce per order. Thanks and we are working on finding a more consistent source.

If you are into making your own body butters and products you have got to try this butter! It has a smooth silky texture with an aroma similar to Cocoa and Shea butter mixed together.

Kpangnan (pronounced Pawnya) is even more moisturizing than Shea butter and has a slight warming effect on the skin when applied. Studies have found that Kpangnan contains a high amount of stigmasterol, an unsaturated plant sterol that contains anti-inflammatory and pain relieving agents.

Wildcrafted and unrefined will give you the best butter for skin preparations. As soon as it is refined it changes its wonderful skin healing properties. The butter should be hard and yellow.

For the carrot cake recipe, what can be substituted for coconut oil. The scent is too strong. Can I increase the kpangnan butter? Will it have the same propterties?
Yes, you can increase the kpangnan butter or use another carrier like babassu oil. It will still have the same properties.

Kpangnan Butter
I've been using this butter for over 4 years and I've tried coco butter but just love the feel of this butter better. I've made Pain blends for my clients with and without the kpangnan butter and the blends with the kpangnan butter works the best. So the pain relieving agents in the butter seem to really work. I love it so much. Thanks Karen
