German Chamomile Hydrosol

Matricaria recutita

Our certified organic German chamomile hydrosol is steam distilled from the white and yellow flowers of the Matricaria recutita herb cultivated right here in the USA. It has a fresh, sweet, herbaceous aroma that is exceptionally comforting. German chamomile hydrosol is highly effective at soothing skin conditions that are hot and red, including itchy, burning eyes or irritated, chaffed skin. The beauty of this hydrosol is that it has a calming effect on both the body and the mind!

Benefits and uses

Our German chamomile hydrosol is one of our favorites, as it is useful for so many things. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity, making it great for minor cuts, scrapes, and bruising. It is also cicatrisant, meaning it has cell-regenerative properties, making it helpful for healing scars. This hydrosol even makes an excellent foot spray. German chamomile is also known to help promote a healthy digestive system.

German chamomile hydrosol is one of the few hydrosols that can be used directly on the eyes. We like to make a compress by applying the hydrosol on cotton balls and then placing them on closed eyes. It works wonders for relieving irritated, itchy eyes connected with allergies or tiredness! This compress is also great for soothing hot, itchy rashes, too.
