Dispersant-Solubol

Dispersant-Solubol from Aromatics

Dispersant-Solubol

Description

An all natural product, Solubol is a great solution in helping to evenly disperse essential oil into water/hydrosol.  When essential oils are added into a water or hydrosol spray, the tiny droplets of essential oil stay separate from the water/hydrosol. When sprayed on the body we get tiny droplets of neat essential oil on our skin. Solubol works great to protect the skin from neat essential oil, and has a very mild aroma that doesn't seem to influence the aroma of the blend. We are using Solubol in sprays we make for damaged or sensitive skin.

There is some debate about how much Solubol one needs to fully disperse essential oil into the water. The range seems to go from 1:1 ratio (1 drop Solubol to 1 drop essential oil), to 1:8 (8 drops Solubol to 1 drop essential oil). The folks we buy it from use it at a 1:4 ratio (1 drop essential oil to 4 drops Solubol).

A list of ingredients are:

  • Sucrose Stearate - An emulsifier made from sugar and vegetable oil
  • Helianthus annus - Annual sunflower oil
  • Cera alba - Beeswax
  • Sterculia urens - a medium-sized, deciduous tree that exude a gum called karaya used in food as an emulsifier, stabilizer and thickener
  • The gum of the acacia tree
  • Propolis cera - Wax from bees
  • Vegetablel Glycerin
  • Lecithin (soy)
  • Cocos nucifera (Coconut oil)
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin C
  • Rosemary officinalis extract

The 1 oz size has about 250 drops.
The 4 oz size has about 1000 drops.
The 8 oz size has about 2000 drops.

Product Q&A
Is it recommended to use the Solubol when using a defuser to disperse EOs in the water?
The Solubol could potentially clog the diffuser. Using straight essential oils is best.

Great Dispersant!
I used Solubol in a 1:1 ratio (6 ml Solubol to 6ml essential oil) in a 6 oz room spray and it mixed beautifully in the distilled water and has remained mixed for 2 weeks now. Love this product!
