Kunzea ericoides

Kanuka from Aromatics

Kanuka

Kunzea ericoides

Description

Leaves and twigs are gathered from the small bushy plants growing wild in the East Cape of New Zealand. Kanuka has been traditionally used by the Maori people of New Zealand as a perfume, for joint and muscular pain and inflammation, as well as skin issues. Kanuka is wonderful to help promote calmness and aid in sleep issues. Kanuka has been referred to as the White Tea Tree. Kanuka is a skin penetrator allowing the oil to quickly penetrate, going deep into the muscle. Kanuka essential oil is considered broad spectrum for fighting viral and fungal infections and keeps bugs away! Great for burns.

Purchon and Cantele say that because of its strong anti-inflammatory effect, this essential oil is good for chronic inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and fibromylagia.

Our distiller is committed to working with landowners and local communities to create sustainable Kanuka forestlands.  All material is hand harvested from sustainable and naturally regenerating stands of Kanuka on the East Cape of New Zealand.

Why do we love our essential oils?

  • we personally know our producers (and love them!)
  • we provide distillation dates of each batch (to guarantee freshness)
  • each batch of oil is tested for purity and consistency
  • GC/MS reports are available on each batch of oil, so blending using chemical components is incredibly accurate (and so much fun!)

If you would like to know more about aromatherapy, we highly recommend…
