Opopanax has a resinous, warm, deep aroma that is strong and lasting. It is known for muscle-relaxing properties. It also reduces stress and anxiety. Because its action is drying, it is effective against mucus, especially deep in the lungs. It is drying for the intestines as well, and can help the body deal with diarrhea. Recommended in cases of colds, flu, sore throat and wet coughs. Excellent as an insect repellent. Opopanax is emotionally grounding and used to bring the body’s energy down. The resins are collected by nomadic tribes that have been working with resins for many generations.
