Rose Otto Centifolia Hydrosol

Rosa centifolia

Our certified organic rose otto centifolia hydrosol is steam distilled by a small artisan distiller in the south of France. This beautiful hydrosol, made from Rosa centifolia, is one of two rose otto hydrosols that we get from them. The other is our rose otto damascena hydrosol. The centifolia rose has a sweet, delicate aroma, while the damascena rose has a deep, powerful aroma. Both offer the same qualities and are a matter of preference. This exquisite rose otto centifolia hydrosol is well-known for its skin care benefits as well as for helping to balance the endocrine system and support emotional well-being.

Benefits and uses

Rose has been known to be a fantastic toner for the skin for many generations. Along with having antimicrobial and astringent properties, it adds and retains moisture, making it perfect for healing dry skin. It is especially beneficial for mature, aging skin. Rose hydrosol has a highly complex aroma (rosewater) and can be used on its own as a lovely perfume, or you can add your favorite complementary essential oils. When making your own lotions, it adds a soft, floral aroma as well as many skin healing properties. Add to your bath for a divine experience!

Rose hydrosol has also been known to be a hormone balancer. It may be helpful for post-menopausal applications and postpartum healing. Its antispasmodic properties can also be helpful for combating PMS symptoms such as cramps.

Suzanne Catty, author of Hydrosols: The Next Aromatherapy, states that rose has an affinity with the heart and the emotional spheres of the mind, body, and spirit. It is known to promote emotional balance and a sense of well-being. It may also help support decision-making. If you love rose, this gorgeous rose otto centifolia hydrosol will delight you!
