Elderflower Hydrosol

Sambucus caerulea

Our certified organic elderflower hydrosol is steam distilled from the white flowers of the elderberry bush. These elderberry bushes are intentionally cultivated for the purpose of hydrosol distillation right here in the USA. The creamy, white flowers of the Sambucus caerulea create a hydrosol that is highly effective as immune support when you feel like you might be coming down with a cold or the flu. Elderflower hydrosol also supports a healthy nervous system and encourages a deeper sense of calm.

Benefits and uses

While the benefits of the elderberry bush are still being researched and explored, this amazing plant has been used medicinally for centuries. This hydrosol, made from its beautiful flowers, can help reduce water retention, support kidney health, and reduce pain and inflammation relating to swollen joints, arthritis, rheumatism, and acid deposits in tissue. It makes a great compress for helping reduce muscle pain and inflammation. Some aromatherapists even use this hydrosol to help induce sweating during a heightened infection in the body.

Elderflower hydrosol is considered an astringent. It can support skin health and help tone and balance the skin. It is also beneficial for sunburns. Try spritzing this hydrosol all over the area of concern to provide relief and faster healing.

We love using our elderflower hydrosol as a tonic for immune support. At the first sign of a cold or the flu, try taking one teaspoon every hour, for up to 8 hours.
