Hemp Seed Oil

Cannabis sativa

Our certified organic hemp seed oil hails from Canada and is cold pressed and unrefined. It is a soft, non-greasy oil that is light green in color and has a slightly nutty aroma and flavor. Hemp seed oil is high in essential fatty acids and contains the recommended 3:1 proportion of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids, making it superb for supporting healthy skin and hair. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and can be used for healing infections, treating rheumatoid arthritis, premenstrual cramps, acne, and skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. It absorbs into the skin easily and does well as a carrier oil for all sorts of essential oil blends!

Benefits and uses

Hemp seed oil is a sensitive oil that will oxidize with exposure to light and changes in temperature. It is best stored somewhere dark and cold, ideally refrigerated. It’s okay to use at low temperatures (warm oil hair treatment, for example), but at high temperatures, it will alter the good fat to bad fat. It’s best to use without heating. Hemp seed carrier oil is different than CBD. A good analogy is poppies to poppy seeds. Hemp seed is part of the cannabis plant family but is VERY different than the CBD variety. This oil is derived from the seeds of the hemp plant, creating a nice carrier oil that is perfect to use by itself or combined with other carrier oils such as jojoba.
