Directions

  1. 1. Pour the hot water into a heat-safe bowl or measuring cup.
  2. 2. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the water and allow it to bloom for about 1 minute, breaking up any clumps with your whisk.
  3. 3. Stir gently until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture is clear.
  4. 4. Stir in the hydrosol until well combined.
  5. 5. Add the alcohol and stir well.
  6. 6. Add 1 tsp of natural color to each container.
  7. 7. Carefully fill containers with the gel mixture, leaving room at the top to prevent spilling.
  8. 8. Add 10 drops of essential oil or essential oil blend to each container, then stir until fully combined and the color is evenly dispersed.
  9. 9. Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until fully set.
  10. 10. The powders we used in this recipe are: 1. Ultramarine Blue Oxide 2. Green Chromimium Oxide 3. Yellow Iron Oxide 4. Flower Girl Mica Powder 5. Blackberry Mica Powder Note: You can experiment with the amount of color, for your desired effect.
