For the Rose Lover: Rose and Geranium Oil - Aromatics International

Rose and Geranium Oil is a beautiful essential oil derived from the co-distillation of Rose Otto (Rosa x damascena) and Geranium (Pelargonium x asperum).

The delicate Rose petals from Belgium are unsprayed and the Geranium from South Africa is organic. This rare combination has all the qualities of both the soft and intriguing Rose and the slightly woody and uplifting Geranium. Co-distilled means that they take part Rose Petals and part Geranium, distilling them together, creating an amazing synergy. I would describe it as a rich and heady aroma and slightly spicy. The color of the oil is a surprising dark green. It's beautiful!

Rose Otto Essential Oil

Rose Otto (Rosa damascena)

Rose Otto (Rosa x damascena) has the most diverse therapeutic properties of all essential oils. A few of the traditional uses of this wonderful essential oil are:
  • Hormone balancing during menopause
  • Cooling for hot flashes (can also mist the hydrosol)
  • Calming
  • Cleansing
  • Purifying the reproductive system

Rosa x damascena can also be emotionally uplifting and used as a tonic for the nervous system, along with helping to support the relief of tension, irritability, headache, and constipation. Rosa x damascena is a very complex essential oil with more than 300 chemical compounds. It takes approximately 60,000 roses to produce one ounce of Rose Otto Essential Oil or to put it another way, 4,000 kg of flowers yield 1 kg. of Rose Otto Essential Oil. Rose always has and continues to be, a symbol of love and beauty.

Geranium Essential Oil

Geranium (Pelargonium x asperum)

Geranium (Pelargonium x asperum) originates from South Africa and has many wonderful skin and nervous system properties. Geranium Essential Oil is ideal for helping us become more in touch with the creative side of our minds. The essential oil provides a delightful aroma that is described as one of the "mothering" personalities - a person who is always ready to take care of someone or something and is easy to be around! When I put a few drops of this co-distilled essential oil into my face mask, my skin feels slightly tingly and very alive. I love this feeling as it is an excellent emollient, softening and hydrating. Try putting a few drops into unscented lotion.

Hi, my name is Karen Williams. As a professional aromatherapist, I love to create amazing blends that inspire and promote a healthier lifestyle. I got my start many years ago as a registered nurse working in the hospital system. But along the way I knew something was missing. I wanted to help people more holistically. Then, I discovered essential oils, and my approach to life changed forever. Now, I’ve made it my mission to share what I’ve learned about aromatherapy with my friends, family, and the world. Because - life is so much better with health, happiness, and community.
