Description
Spike lavender essential oil is from the same genus as true lavender, but it’s a different species. While its floral aroma resembles lavender’s, it’s more energizing, camphor-like, and herbaceous. Spike lavender’s refreshing scent offers focused confidence (the kind that can help you finish a workout). In skincare blends, spike lavender is suited to easing acutely uncomfortable or itchy issues, as it can purify skin and calm irritation. Our certified organic spike lavender essential oil is steam distilled from rich purple blossoms harvested from fields dotting the rural Spanish landscape.
Suggested Uses

Relieve - Soreness

After a yoga or exercise class, massage your muscles with a spike lavender blend to prevent tightness or cramping.

Purify - Germs

Care for discolored or thickened nails on your hands or feet with a soothing spike lavender cream. Use it daily.

Complexion - Bug Bites

Stop scratching that bug bite! Use an itch salve made with spike lavender in a base of beeswax and jojoba.

Safety & Warnings

Generally non-toxic. Non-irritating. Stimulating for some; may be best during the daytime. Epilepsy - Essential Oil Safety by Tisserand and Young (second edition), suggests avoiding Spike Lavender at levels higher than 19%. Pregnancy - the camphor content is not high enough to be contraindicated during pregnancy. As an extra safe precaution, however, you may choose to avoid Spike Lavender during pregnancy. If oxidized, it may cause irritation or sensitization. It may antidote homeopathic remedies. It is too strong to use with babies or children under ten years old on their faces or in a steam. Use with caution on children between 5-10 years old. Care must be taken when using with asthmatics.

A Passion for Aromatherapy

Aromatics International would not be what it is today without your shared belief in what we do, what we stand for, and how we conduct our aromatherapy practice.

I embarked on my journey to source pesticide-free, sustainable products from small-scale farmers and a major criteria of mine is that everything I source is both aromatically vibrant and also therapeatically effective. I love sharing what I find in this world with others. I am constantly blown away by the positive response I receive from all of you. I thank all of you for your strong support throughout the years and am continually inspired by the warm words you share with me. It truly keeps me going.

Love, Karen
