Clary Sage

Salvia sclarea

Description

Our certified organic clary sage essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops and foliage of the Salvia sclarea plant grown in France and crafted by an amazing distiller. This oil is almost clear, to somewhat pale yellow to pale olive color, with a fruity, sweet, herbaceous, and floral aromatic profile.

Clary sage essential oil is high in linalyl acetate, a chemical component found in the esters family, which is therapeutically recognized for its sedative and antispasmodic characteristics. It is a wonderful oil when looking to formulate blends for respiratory health related to asthma, anxiety, depression, stress, nervous tension, and to use as a deodorant. Clary sage is also beneficial in supporting pain relief associated with menstrual cycles (note: it could create a slightly heavier menstrual flow during use), helping during the birth experience, and helping to ease some of the negative effects of menopause.

Energetically, clary sage essential oil is extremely uplifting and soothing, with the ability to help restore inner tranquility and clarity.

Clary sage essential oil is known to be non-irritant, non-sensitizing, and non-toxic, even for pregnant women. However, safety guidelines for blending in aromatherapy should be observed.
