Our all-natural Solubol is an excellent solution for dispersing essential oils into water or hydrosols evenly. It has a very mild aroma and doesn’t seem to influence the aroma of any blends. Solubol works excellently to emulsify drops of essential oils that would otherwise not dissolve in the water/hydrosol blend, protecting your skin from any possible adverse effects that full-strength (neat) drops of essential oil can have. We also like to use our Solubol in sprays we make for damaged or sensitive skin, as well.
Benefits and uses
Solubol is an all-natural product. Ingredients: Sucrose stearate (an emulsifier made from sugar and vegetable oil), Helianthus annus (annual sunflower oil), Cera alba (beeswax), Sterculia urens (a medium-sized, deciduous tree that exudes a gum called karaya used in food as an emulsifier, stabilizer and thickener), Gum of the acacia tree, Propolis cera (wax from bees), Vegetable glycerin, Lecithin (soy), Cocos nucifera (Coconut oil), Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Rosemary Rosmarinus officinalis extract.
There is some debate about how much Solubol one needs to disperse essential oil into your water/hydrosol blend fully. The ratio seems to range all the way from 1:1 to 1:8 ratio (1 drop of essential oil to 8 drops Solubol). The folks we buy it from recommend using it at a 1:4 ratio (1 drop essential oil to 4 drops Solubol). The 1-ounce size contains about 250 drops, the 4-ounce size contains about 1000 drops, and the 8-ounce size contains about 2000 drops.
